Getting copies

Before a copy can be made of original materials such as diaries and artworks, we will need to check copyright and if there are any restrictions. Some catalogue records have brief copyright information. Please ask staff at the Special Collections desk or contact us to for full copyright information.

You can make copies of pictures for research and study purposes by:

  • using a digital camera
  • using our microfilm reader printers 
  • ordering paper or electronic copies
  • ordering high quality digital scans
  • purchasing microfilm.

Publishing and citing our collection material

You need to contact us for permission to publish our original materials. You must also acknowledge the Library and provide the correct location details. This will help other researchers to find the items so they can quote the source of the reproduction including the artist, title, call number and digital order number if digitised.
