About the guide

This guide brings together the essential resources for studying Preliminary and HSC Legal Studies into one place. These resources will help you to find relevant legislation, cases, journal articles, research papers and media reports that you can use to support your research.

This guide replaces the previous HSC legal studies research guides. You can view archived versions of these guides on Pandora to gain ideas and research strategies.

Where to begin your research

Always start your research with the 'Begin your Preliminary and HSC legal studies research' tab. Here you'll find resources to help you to develop an understanding about your topic. Explore the other tabs to dive deeper into your topic.

The law is constantly changing and finding current information is vital. Use newspapers, journals, legislation, cases and government reports to find the latest information.

How to access resources

We've added icons next to each resource so you know where you can use them. You will need to sign up for a Library card to use most resources in the guide.
