The Young Writers Showcase series features outstanding major works by HSC English Extension 2 students.
You can find copies of the Young Writers Showcase in the HSC Information area shelves on LG2 in the Governor Marie Bashir Reading Room.
This series contains a broad selection of the highest scoring major works presented by English Extension 2 students from 2011 to current.
They include short stories, poetry, critical responses and scripts plus a reflection statement from each student about their creative process.

Using the library catalogue for Extension 2

Use the library catalogue to find publications and criticism in your chosen genre, as well as writing guidebooks. Search by Subject using the term ‘authorship’; for example:

short story authorship
poetry authorship
motion picture authorship
nonfiction authorship
authorship handbooks manuals

Options include browsing by nationality (eg. short stories American) or genre alone (eg. playwriting).

Browse the latest Australian literary journals for writing of all genres in full text. Using the Advanced search screen, type the journal title and then use the drop down arrow All Fields to choose Journal or Source Title. Journals include long-running publications such as Southerly, Meanjin and Island, and more recent and diverse publications such Griffith Review, Kill Your Darlings, The Lifted Brow, Voiceworks, Going Down Swinging and Overland.
